The Transportation Planning Office is responsible for coordinating various federally funded transportation and infrastructure projects through the Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). Federal grant funds are allocated to the City of Memphis through the MPO and TDOT. Coordinating and managing these federally funded grant projects includes compliance with various contracting requirements between the City of Memphis and TDOT, as well as overseeing financial obligations and reimbursements. This office is also responsible forcoordinating with the MPO on the Long-Range Regional Transportation Plan and helping to select and identify transportation projects.
